REACTIONS: Great read and advice on how to handle a common situation - you are facing a certain amount of pressure to make a hire that you are not comfortable with - what should you do? In this situation, Manager actually met with the candidate and was underwhelmed, but didn't know how to react when the resume looked great. Good to remember that we are hiring a person, not just a resume. In this case, the manager wanted to decline - but they weren't armed with the language needed to successfully navigate the situation.


VERDICT: READ IT: Often we are only comfortable moving forward when we know what to say and how to say it. The advice here focused on preparing the Manager for the potentially uncomfortable messages they would have to deliver. A simple, but effective, solution to an overwhelming challenge.
